[19th September 2019: ASEAN Data Science Explorer 2019]

Warmest congratulations to Stella Anne Teoh Ming Hui, 2nd Year student from Bachelor of Philosophy, Law and Business on her achievement in representing UUM in the Malaysia National Finals 2019 on 19th September 2019 at Monash University, Kuala Lumpur. They successfully won 2nd Place in the competition, with Monash University as 1st and UKM as 3rd place respectively.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Leading the duo from School of Law, they formulated their presentation around the SDG No. 4: Quality Education and specifically around digital literacy across ASEAN.
This competition is the flagship initiative under the ASEAN Foundation’s partnership with SAP, the world’s leading software company. It aims to enhance awareness and appreciation of an ASEAN Community among young people through digital literacy intervention. This analytics competition is comprised of 2 levels national and regional.
By learning and using the SAP Analytics Cloud Software, the ASEAN DSE encourages participants to deliver data-driven insights for ASEAN across several United Nation (UN) Sustainable Development Goals. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Students have to come up with data analytics-based recommendations and solutions to address social and economic issues across the following six SDGs: 1) good health and well-being, (2) quality education, (3) gender equality, (4) decent work and economic growth, (5) industry, innovation & infrastructure and (6) sustainable cities and communities.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Warmest congratulations to Nur Syahirah bt Azhar, second year student from Bachelor of Philosophy, Law and Business on her achievement in representing Malaysia and Universiti Utara Malaysia in an international event— 3rd Model ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), Towards a Peaceful, Stable and Secure and Prosperous ASEAN on 10th to 13th September 2019 in Parliament House of Indonesia, Jakarta, Indonesia. Throughout the event, she was appointed as the Head of Delegates of Cambodia and took part in Political Session to discuss on Principle of Non-Indifference To Prevent Atrocities in ASEAN: An Option or a Violation to State Sovereignty.
